ANNOUNCING:
New York Goes to Prison
Changing how we think about justice reform
New York Goes to Prison is a series of TEDx events inside three New York prisons this fall. Each event will bring together incarcerated people and community members to share ideas, reimagine justice, and take action.
For more than a decade, Proximity for Justice has been working hard with our incarcerated organizers to create transformative spaces inside prisons where incarcerated people, prison staff, community members, and policymakers come together to listen, connect, and ignite change.
New York Goes to Prison is an action-driven campaign designed to move people from awareness to impact. Powerful, concise talks from incarcerated individuals, correctional officers, crime survivors, business leaders, and advocates will highlight different ideas to improve New York’s criminal justice system and increase public safety for all.
